What is the DASS-21?

The Depression, Anxiety, and Stress Scales (DASS-21) is a 21-item self-report measure that assesses three related but distinct negative emotional states: depression, anxiety, and stress.

Developed by Lovibond and Lovibond, the DASS-21 is valued for its ability to differentiate between overlapping symptoms of depression, anxiety, and stress. Each subscale contains seven items, producing three separate severity ratings.
